Hello,
I am new to single tracks and I am getting back into mountain biking after a ten year layoff! My old mountain bike is a OLD Trek 930 it still runs but I am in need of a new ride.
My question is what should I buy? I have $1500 to spend (or less). I live in VA and will be riding it in the WVA/VA Mountains and maybe a few trips to the CO area…
I think I need/want an entry level hard tail that I can race with…
What brands or features should I look for?
Thanks for your help,
Timberwolf

what kind of riding would it be in these mountains, XC, AM,DH. if you want suggestions then let know what type of riding your wanting. I woudl recommend a good all around full-suspension all-mountain bike.

First, check out this post:
You have a few bucks more than that so you could also look in the leftover ’08 models for a Trek Fuel, Specialized FSRxc, Cannondale Rush or Rize, or something similar.
Like spaz said, it will differ somewhat on the type of riding you intend to do.
And say ‘Hi’ when you come out to Colorado!
