This was my go to shop, they used to be great. However it seems customer service has gone out the window. The last several orders I placed all had problems. I don't know if it's a corporate problem or just this location specifically but the ball was dropped entirely too many times. So much for doing business local.

Performance Bike is a franchise shop which opened in Charlotte 10-2006. They're located about 5-10 minutes drive south of Uptown Charlotte.

I've already had my bike in for service there and they did a GREAT job. The old shop I used to frequent, I'd get pretty quick turn-around on repairs but then I'd get out on the trail and the same stuff I brought it in for would start acting up again!

With Performance Bike, I took my bike in for service: gear adjustments, wheel true, fork rebuild, etc...pretty detail work. The folks at this shop were awesome! They kept me updated with regular status reports, they shipped the rear fork off to Fox and kept the price of the rebuild to just what Fox charged(which was also the bottom of the $ estimate range they gave for cost of the rebuild!) I've since had my bike out for three rides and it is running great...they fixed it the first time. They even repaired my front fork shock adjustment knob which they had to work pretty hard to find a comparable part. Kate(shop lead mechanic) really did a great job managing the repairs and keeping me posted. To top it off...because of a coupon I had from my Performance subsription membership, I paid less for the tune-up + fork rebuild than what I used to spend at the old shop. THAT makes me a repeat customer!

All this adds up to Performance being my "new" local bike shop! They have great customer service, offer VERY competitive prices, and regular sales on a large part of their merchandise inventory(not just close-outs). It's a large, good-looking shop to boot.

First chance you get - check out this shop!
