Its ok to allow class 1 ebikes on the trails but not class 2 or 3. Just remember ebikes will never take over the trails because they are very expensive and heavy so will only cater to a small demographic. Specialized ebikes range from around 5K up to over 12K. They are over 50 lbs-…
I'm not ready to shuttle with an ebike either but I did see someone doing that in GA. But hey were a smoker.
Shuttles are great! It saves you time and energy. I've taken shuttles in Bend OR and at Mulberry Gap in GA. This summer I will be using the ski lifts at the bike parks in Crested Butte, Breckenridge and Winter Park. Its my ride and I like to have fun riding.
I think pay to play is fine. If someone spent thousands of dollars and or hours to build trails they need money to maintain the trails. I live in Charlotte and I pay $50 a year for a parking pass to ride 25-30 miles of trails at the Whitewater Center or you can pay $3…
I would suggest that you demo an ebike before comparing them to motocross bikes
I think its great that ebikes are allowed at Mammoth Mountain. I hope the USFS will work with other areas/regions to give ebike access to trails. I own an ebike and have a friend who has one too and we dont ride any faster than we do on our regular ebikes. We can just ride…
I wonder how many of the e-bike haters have even ridden one? Not sure where all the hate comes from online because I have never had anyone say anything negative about the bike in person(except my wife who calls it my cheater bike). Everyone who has seen it and ridden it has always had a…
I am in my early 60's and most of my bike injuries have been rib related injuries. Each time I wasn't going fast but those slippery leaves and wet parallel roots reached out and grabbed me. It was 3-5 weeks of no riding each time.

I am not sure where you are getting your information. Did you see someone riding uphill at 20 mph? They do have a top speed of 20 mph when the motor stops producing power.

Full disclosure- I only listened to 6 minutes of the podcast. I am 62 in good physical shape and I own a Specialized Turbo Levo along with a Specialized Camber 29er. I use my Camber about 4-5 times as much as my Levo. Yes it makes it easier to go up hills. Is that a…
I have 2 mountain bikes. A Specialized Camber 29 with a dropper post and a new Specialized Levo ebike. I would suggest that all the ebike haters to try one out first before making nasty uninformed statements. Mountain biking is fun on both! My Levo has 650 tires which gives me great traction for going…
