6 & 7 don't bother me, it's the other 8 that make trails in SE USA that has made me reconsider road cycling and actually look forward to taking my chances vs the motorists. With road cycling in FL, the motorists really don't bother me, but those tree roots & rocks, after a quick afternoon…
Oh, & the beauty of living in Flagler county, I don't even need to involve a car for any of this ride & bbq. The trails are a 7 mile ride to Graham Swamp MTB trail for me. To Woody's BBQ that's 1.8 miles south on the return trip, so double that up for 3.6…
I did see Tampa, FL on the list. I'll add Flagler county, but qualify it with chain bbq. Graham Swamp MTB trails, take your pick, Woody's or Sonny's is within striking distance after loading the MTBs up and leaving after a session. Cool Beans in Bunnell or Colt's Pig Stand as well at Destination Daytona,…
MTB is a different train & recovery from road cycling. Just me, but with road cycling, I have the luxury of miles to tweak the gears to find ideal cadence on smooth asphalt. MTB, the trails are chaos, dodging rocks, roots, fallen tree limbs and anything else nature and unpaved roads thriw at you and…
Too funny, the experts argue the virtues of their own products. And all of it is a matter of gaining/retaining a share of the premium priced helmet market. Someone is upset the title of the best & smartest model is debatable. If Koroyd or any other for that matter, is no longer "the best", they…

I went with the Rock Bros anodized pedals. Pleased with their product. 370g/pair. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikeforums.net-vbulletin/1010x1010/s_l1600_adea98decc468743dcd9b602b39b0f70bb17558b.jpg
Without a doubt there is a cultural difference. I think it has to do with the price of petrol in Europe vs the USA. Back under Bush, cycling took off again, it was the $ 4/gallon of gasoline, then when gasoline prices dropped economy cars & bicycles became less desirable again. Ford, GM & Fiat…

Makes sense I guess if you were getting flats every other ride. I ride FL trails, rocks aren't the biggest issues, here it's the thorns, tree roots. Some trails even have cinder blocks buried those ultimately get exposed from riding and rains. I don't think I'd ride the trails you do on anything less than…
Probably why I'll never have tubeless on a bicycle. A puncture/flat is going to happen sooner or later, new tubes are what a patch kit costs anyway & if you have to carry a spare anyway, what's the point of having compatible, yet different systems ? A patch is a patch, a tire breakdown and…

asked a question about Salsa Woodsmoke

The chain stays being designed like that, how does it effect the sturdiness/durability of the frame at the bottom bracket...
