About Me

Grew up riding the Black Diamond Mines with my dad. Stopped riding for many years as girls, cars and life in general got in the way. I have kids of my own now and started riding again as soon as they were old enough to come along. I mostly ride the B.D.M. entry road since I can ride there from my house and make it a 10 mile round trip.

I use a "Rhino Mount" on my motorcycle. I would use it on my MTB for XC rides if it weren't  such a pain to take it off my Harley. As for the read...

Been wondering about this myself. My cranks are creaking like an old barn door and I have been thinking about upgrading (not too hard to upgrade from 2005 entry level gear)  I...

I had a cousin try to sell me a specialized epic for $100..  needless to say I was skeptical of the bikes legitimacy and did not bite. Sometimes I think about it...
Hmmm, well I should start by stating that the BEST bike that I have ever  owned is my current ride, a 2005 Hardrock comp disc. The bike is miles ahead of any...

How does one go about gaining permission to implement a new trail? Where I live in California most of the MTB "trails" are fire roads. We are mostly forbidden from riding anything...

I bought a used 2005 hardrock two years ago and I have upgraded EVERYTHING (barring the cranks and BB) on the bike. 90% of the upgrades came from pinkbike or craigslist. Even...

Nay, Like most other guys have mentioned here, back in the day of narrow bars and long stems they were useful but I've got two pairs collecting dust in a bucket as...

That is a great point Jeff. He would have been a handy guy to have around for all of our access debates.

I was just reading about John Muir, a man I had not thought about since I was maybe 10 years old. I Only know about him because I am lucky enough to...
For me the very last day of 2016 influenced my 2017 goals a bit: 1) Install a trailer hitch and rack on my new car. ( No trunk racks as I actually have good...
Cool article! I have done the same with a few Diamondbacks from the early 90's I gave one to my brother inlaw and the other I sold for 20$ which almost got all of my money back from the parts I bought. These bikes were more complete but still needed bars, pedals, cables and rear…

I am not sure what my first MTB was. I was very young (2nd or 3rd grade I believe) and My dad had found me a 20" five speed kids MTB. I...

Great article, I will be looking into how I can apply these tips to my rides as soon as the weather clears up. (Currently in the midst of a rare California rain)

What a great way to immortalize one of our fallen. I would love to visit there one day just to see it in person, learn about the man and his family. I have seen many memorials to the fallen but this has to be one of the best ways to cement Sgt. Griffin in the…
