Video: How To Pump the Trail for More Speed

When you get the pump right, you’ll know – it’ll just feel faster and smoother. Pumping is all about timing – you want to make yourself ‘heavy’ by pushing weight through the bike and dropping your heels as you come into a dip, before easing up as you come out again.

It takes a bit of practice, but try it out at a local pump track if there’s one nearby, or make yourself a set of ‘rollers’ like Neil did here.
