Bianchi has a new short travel 29er on offer that can be built up with a 100 or 120mm fork and takes a proper dropper post. The Methanol CV FS is a full squish race bike designed for modern XC and marathon courses. This latest version is longer and slacker than its World Cup proven hardtail teammate, while the bike remains podium-poised in every way.
Bianchi claims that “the new Methanol CV full-suspension will not only improve the way you ride, it will change how you ride. Technical descents once deemed too rough to attempt are now a breeze thanks to the Bianchi CV System: the use of Countervail special carbon material and viscoelastic resin [cancels] 80% of the vibration, resulting in improved after shock control.”
The respectable 435mm chainstays at the back of the Methanol CV FS should pair well with its equal reach measurement (size medium) and somewhat relaxed 68.6° (100mm fork) headtube angle. All sizes come with the shortest headtubes possible to let riders drop their bars low and aggressive on the bike, and the short seat tube should open up the size range to folks with a wide variety of inseam measurements.
The steep seat tube angle and reportedly light weight of the frame should make it a winner on the climbs, particularly when paired with a grippy 2.4″ tire.
