Race Face has always offered an array of mountain bike components that range from $ to $$$$$. Given the variety of price points, they’re a popular OEM spec and frequently come to mind when riders need to swap out a broken part or are looking for an affordable, quality upgrade.
Today, Race Face introduced the AEffect R line and have a dropper post and crankset available.
AEffect R crankset
The AEffect R crankset “brings enduro-rated strength and keeps the weight in the XC range,” says Race Face. The crankset is forged 7050 aluminum to optimize stiffness without more weight. The crankset features the CINCH System for spider options with the 24mm EXI interface spindle. Race Face has also added a 165mm length on top of the 170 and 175mm lengths. It will be available in a black satin finish and will sell for $130.

AEffect R Dropper
The AEffect R dropper post is also new for Race Face. It includes a sealed damping system and is made from 705 aluminum for a lower weight. The dropper is compatible with internal routing and can go up to 170mm in travel. It is cable actuated with a hydraulic cartridge that Race Face says is “extremely reliable and easily serviceable.”
A new DU bushing in the upper nut and increased upper tube diameter makes the dropper stiffer and more durable and it features a 2-bolt clamp system like other Race Face posts. The AEffect R lever is sold separately and the post is compatible with Turbine R levers and other remotes. MSRP for the AEffect R dropper is $200.
