In case you missed it, Tenneco, the Lake Forest, IL company that owns Marzocchi, announced its “intention to discontinue its Marzocchi motor bike fork suspension business and its mountain bike business, and liquidate its Marzocchi operations.” While many have taken this to mean the company is shutting down its mountain bike suspension business for good, Singletrack Magazine spoke with a UK distributor who seems to indicate otherwise.

For now the only official word we’ve seen from Tenneco/Marzocchi comes in the form of this press release. While “liquidating” an operation may sound devastating, liquidation still implies working with a buyer to purchase the operations (factories, equipment, etc.), product designs, or even just the brand name. Clearly there is some value left in Marzocchi–we’ll just have to wait and see where Marzocchi goes from here!
