If you’re looking for a toasty three-season jacket, Stolen Goat has you coved with their new Orkaan Long Sleeve Everyday Jersey. The interior of the Orkaan jacket is a very soft, comfortable, Roubaix fleece and the exterior is both waterproof and wind resistant, with the weatherproofing build directly into the fabric. This means that you never heave to worry about the waterproofing washing away and needing to re-treat it!
Stolen Goat rates this jersey for 40-60 degrees Fahrenheit but I found that I was able to get out in some much colder weather. I rode on multiple 25-degree days and was plenty warm when I layered up with a long sleeve underneath. If you are headed out in a downpour, a true hard shell rain jacket will keep you dryer than this jacket, but the waterproofing will keep you dry from a light rain.
My favorite feature of this jacket is hands down the 4th rear pocket. This jacket has three standard pockets like most bike jerseys/jackets but it also has a 4th waterproof zipper pocket similar to the Bodyline SS jersey I previously reviewed. I love this SO MUCH because it is a great safe place to keep you phone during a surprise rain storm, it keeps your snacks from getting soggy, and is a great spot to stow a few bucks or house keys.
The rear pockets are made of Stolen Goats PIXEL100 fabric. This fabric has small reflective beads built in to provide a bit of extra visibility in low light conditions.
The fleece interior is warm and comfortable. The collar and cuffs are tight to keep warmth in and the nasty weather out, but they are still very comfortable. There is also a zipper guard to protect your neck from irritation cause by contact with the zipper. This jacket is so comfortable I actually found myself wearing it out and about off the bike! The Orkaan is priced at $148 USD but I think it is a great value because I am able to wear this jacket year-round.
Thanks to Stolen Goat for providing the Orkaan Everyday Long Sleeve Jersey for review.
