yes! go for it. i have the same bike and i am a bike mechanic. i love the bike. it has the handling to take it to the XC and enough travel to take it urban riding. the abp works! on the stairs you can lock up the rear wheel and still feel the squesh. the stock grips i didnt like so i put on odi rouge lock ons, i put on a wtb rocket v saddle. the onll thing is that the bolts for the pivots are aluminum so if your not carefull you can strip the heads. but this is an awesome all around bike. so far the best bike ive owned thus far.

dont go cheap on that part, your nads will thank you for that. e.13 is sweet. or get a rear derailler with a stronger spring or longer cage.

its better *in my mind* that they are for super technical trails. where you go a long way in between obstacles. and then want to lower it easy and fast so its out of your way. unless you have to get off your bike and move your seat every 2 miles then save your $$$$ and buy some king hubs.

in my shop we use 3m tape. go to like a graphics or like a sign shop they will have some clear flexible tape stuff that is just shy of one mili. the stuff works great it can rub all it wants, you just put on new tape when it looks nasty. and the adhesive on it come off with alcohol. i even put it on my chainstay. it looks better then a lizard skin and doesnt hold dirt just wipe it off. it looks better. its cheaper. and more practical. its what i use on high end bikes. stuff rocks. cut the edges round so it doesnt peel.

shimano still makes highend cranksets with the plastic "pant protector" the only problem… its only sold in europe. so if you can get it. buy a few, im sure some commuters around would shurly want a set

if you want to save weight on a fork get an air shock. the coils in other forks are heavy. dont worry about your weight i ride with a guy that is 230-240 and we take 5ft drops to hard pack all the time. for the same strength of a product but less weight you will start paying out like crazy. get two bikes. one for strictly racing, the other for going out and trying to break bones.
