    I think your cassette and chain both are too old, and rusted away. So your chain slips regularly. You need to replace your chain and cassette at a time.

    -Chain and cassette were purchased at same time two months ago, so that wouldn’t be the case. It wasn’t so much a slip as a jumping of gears, poor description on my part. So it was more of an alignment issue. Thanks for your response

    Thank you for all of the answers…Turns out the derailluer hanger was actually a little bit loose and not sitting flush with the frame. I adjusted that and then tuned the RD and now it works great
