How about budding up with someone you ride with and share tools or the cost of them.
I have been using clipless for a while i guess my tip would have someone set up the cleat so that your feet run parallel with the bike and if your worried about releasing and the pedal allows it why don’t you use a soft spring tension setting.
I have been riding for a very long time and i hit the clipless band wagon when they were first introduced way back in 85 and haven’t looked back i do however change to my flats when i know i am going to do jumps or stunts.
Well if the shops owner is doing that nasty business then all i could say is to pick up a book or two on how to repair your own bike and ask questions on forums like this….But one thing on forum questions is that some people do give bad advice….Not that they intend to but they themselves are at times misinformed..
If you check out people like SRAM and Shimano you can actually download technical manuals which really help…. Also purchase good quality tools.
Well all i could say is that perhaps the people who are doing the work are not necessarily the people who own the shop…And well sometime they are not as honest…I would complain to the owner…And well find another LBS.
I personally do all my own work…From major overhauls all the way to rebuilding forks and building wheels.
I was seriously considering picking up the Garmin Oregon 300 or 400t it has a very large screen for its size as well it is touch screen…I can’t wait till my wife lets me pick one up.
