monarch crest out of Salida (high alpine)

Crested Butte!! is arguably the birth place of MTB.(High Alpine)

Closer to Breck check out Blackhawk area and or Floyd Hill!!

if you want beers pre and post ride from brewery at trial head—a fun day— i would suggest going into Golden, Co(Front Range), park at New Terrain Brewing, drink, and ride the trails right there — enjoy!!

A fat bike is like a kid at halloween…pure joy….

In Iowa we get wet heavy snow…so we snow shoe the routes and then ride them…repeat next snowfall….its great….when you fall you just laugh!!

in reply to: better upgrade: fork or dropper? #230764

“– but I do think it’s ridiculous when people on $5,000 full suspension bikes are clocking slower times than me in the TT series…  I look at that as wasted money on their part.”

Using your comment to respond, a dropper post is nothing more than a convenience thing(use better technique or body awareness on you bike)…like an earlier comment said…adjust your seat post to your ride….

A dropper post is nothing more than a carbon seat, or carbon handlebars in my opinion..dont get me wrong they are all nice …but. there is a limited benefit to the dropped that can be deemed useless(overkill) in probably 35 states.

A suspension fork….is an all ar0und work horse that will be in play on everytrail you ride….

seeing that you are a TT you must be in the know a little and have seen that some products are nothing more then window dressing….To me…unless you live out west (with miles of downhill at your leisure) this decision is a no brainer and you will be living the kush life style riding dirty on your new Bluto!!

    my 2 cents!!

Night Ride, at a rural county park in Iowa, <Mallory Park .

Group of us show up to ride, there are no other cars in the parking lots….We head out, do a 3 mile loop, we back track over some of the route on the way back to the trucks, and we come up to a wicker chair sitting in the middle of the trail…..Freaky…. no one to be found…just a lonely wicker chair sitting in the middle of the single track, that we rode over 50 mins previous….worst part was we were all freaked and didn’t enjoy a cold one in the lot after our ride.

    #goosebumps

in reply to: 80mm rims with 27.5*3 tires?? #207403

My LBS is saying the same thing….he said he would bring in the 3″ and give it a try….”the rim will be as wide as the tire” were his words…..but if they dont work out we will try something different…

    I will keep you posted….
