  • I’m a year new to this sport, and for my first bike, I bought a GF (Trek) Mamba 29’er. I think that it’s a pretty smooth ride, but hey… what do I know… I’m a noob and I haven’t tested any other. I guess the final factor for me was that the frame itself looked beefier than the Specialized that I looked at. I know that I’d like to look into a full suspension soon, and I don’t know if I should stay Trek, or go with someone else.

hey peeps, warner robins here…. been riding since march of this year and having a blast. only a couple local places down here to ride. thomson (yeah, the company) and the children’s industrial home also known as the pig trail. really wanted to make it up north this year, but it looks like that won’t happen until next year. io hear that chicopee is totally awesome. some down here say it’s better than fats.

i’m with greg about the big meet-up. i think that would be a blast for sure. hopefully i’ll be doing the ididaride down in florida in january.

just a head’s up unless you already know… but pricepoint has these tires on sale right now for a very tempting price… if only they offered the 29er size for $21.98 😀

I especially like the Batman graphics depicting the Horse snapping it’s ankle. Who comes up with this stuff?

    ..i was thinking the same thing… 😆

yeah, i agree with everyone too.. your knees shouldn’t hurt at all. i’ve been on clipless for about a month now and i’m a total n00b to all the mtb stuff. but i’ll tell ya that i have 2 titanium screws holding my right knee together and neither one of my knees hurt after i ride. i’m using crank bros candy sl’s on mine.

I usually put one of propel drink mix things in my 3L just to add a little taste, but after i ride, i usually rinse mine out a couple times, dry the heck out of it (even use a hair dryer) and then stuff a couple dish towels in it just to keep it open until the next ride.

i’ve been looking at those "official" cleaning kits at pricepoint for $14 bucks… are those really worth it?

in reply to: Traveling to Mountain bike #89547

Traveling across this great land of ours can be awesome. Just taking Route 66 alone you will have a blast. There are so many little towns with so much history to explore. Personally I have done Ohio to South Dakota. South Dakota to New Mexico. New Mexico to California. New Mexico to Ohio. Ohio to Georgia. Georgia to Texas.

I do think that it stinks that the price of gas keeps going up & up and it makes it harder for folks to go out and enjoy traveling and seeing things that are very enjoyable. Heck Goo… I’m sure that traveling alone from N. Georgia to Savannah would be a blast.
