Good trails and craft beer were just meant to be together.
No expert here but have been running WTB velociraptors 2.1 for about a year now and I am a fan. I ride on sand, hardpack dirt, and mud occasionally. The rear tread is great for powering through loose stuff without loosing virtually anything while the front tire hands corners great. As long as i keep my form good I can drop into a corner and my pedal have scraped the ground before my tires give out when I am on hardpack dirt.
Hey man welcome to the site. I saw as long as there is no risk of damage to the bike then go for it. Otherwise your day at work will be spent wishing you had…
8valve thanks a ton for that info I will look into it. I lived up in burlington for a while will be back for christmas, hope you are loving vt man. And about my LBS I never actually brought in the bike I just got some info from them. Thanks guys!
I just asked my LBS and unless I just misunderstood them that is what they were telling me.
Hey mudhunny are you looking for freelance work or something more long term?
yeah man winter riding in florida is hands down the best time to go out… 60 beats 110 anyday.
I am no expert but have fixed up my bikes several times and it sounds like either the tension in the derailleur cable isn’t right or there is a small problem with one of the limit screws. Make sure the derailleur lines the chain up right on the gear for each of the limit screws and that there is enough tension in the cable for an immediate shift. slack can cause ghost shifting under torque. and if you said the chain is the right size (check the width too) then I can’t think of anything else it would be.
hope that helps. 💡
Yeah if that is the correct position then my saddle needs a bit of adjustment. Thanks both of you.
ah, thanks maddslacker I will try playing with that.
Then is the frame size just wrong?
that is kind of what I feel that the problem is but I have the seat moved as far forward as it will go.
All about the trails for now but would love to do some AM if I could get the bike and terrain for it.
Thanks guys. Looked up the article and after some youtube videos I think I get it. appreciate it billy.
Haha six bikes man? Wish I could swing that. Welcome to the site and I hope you are getting plenty of chances to put them to use.
rubbing alcohol works as a quick lubricant and it evaporates quickly too. put a little bit of that under the grip and it will helps it slide off.
Don’t know anything about the mtb skills book but the repair book by Todd Downs is excellent. Not only does it clearly shows repairs but also explains geometry (which gave me a much better understand of how a bike handles) and dives into some helpful history on different parts.
haha when you put it like that it is a very easy choice.
heck yes I have gone on the tour. Several times actually. Free beer? yes thank you. Yeah summer wacko is a bit odd I liked it better before I knew what was in it. Lucky guy man to have it a few types near you I am in Daytona Beach now so I get rather slim pickings.
thanks for the info dozzer though I am in the Daytona Beach area though so I don’t think I could make that.
