Thanks a lot, looking into the cranks since I had one of the arms fall off during a ride.

hope you dont mind the thread jack but I am having the same problems with my cannondale, is there any thing different about the BB on there vs, any other aftermarket BB?

I have a few teeth that are chewed up on my chainring, and a chain that had/has a frozen link. when pedalling it would skip that would cause my foot to slip. and as I was looking down trying to figure out what was skipping I noticed the creaking. So if I want to replace the chain ring and BB and chain, is there a better HD crankset that might include everything (minus chain)?

    I am kind of a big dude, 6’1” 215-225lbs, bike is a Cannondale F7.

any suggestions on converting to a single chain ring setup?

yes ofcourse, I realize that it is not meant for FR, but was just looking to make it a bit more capable for the trails by my house. Thank you for your suggestions. at 6’1” and 215-225lbs, I am looking for some heavy duty equipment.

Ok, So I got the f7 for 450$, I thought and still think that is a pretty good deal. Got to ride some fire roads or whatever by my house in the woods a few times. A guy that is pretty heavy into down hill here invited me out, I was really excited about it, and with in the first 5 mins, I smashed my rear rim on a big Fin rock and had to walk the bike back to the car. So hear I am with a nice bike that I cant freakin ride. The lip of the rim got bent inwards and almost creased. So I am pretty sure there is no hope for the rim, however the rest of the wheel seems to be fine. So My question is should I buy new hoops and have them put on the spokes and hubs that I have already, or buy a whole wheel set?

Looking for the best bang for my limited buck. was looking at some mavic hoops for around 50 bucks each, said they were for DH/FR or a set of sun wheels.

Would like to get something around 100 bucks or less
