Just call it the Pemi like everyone else.
Somebody would have to be a dedicated thief to hike the three miles to get the bikes. That trail is also fairly busy. Just the same, I did lock up my bike. I suppose I could have also taken the pedals if I was really concerned. I think carrying the front tire to the summit would have been a little extreme, but also effective.
And here’s the latest with more air and less POV:

I did some backcountry ski runs down Ball Hill a couple years ago, but have yet to check out Crow Hill. I hear the climbing permit is easy to get (just check in with the ranger). I’ll have to go check out the climbing sometime.
I recently did a blog post on this trail system. There’s a link to a map-my-ride GPS map in the post. [url:2563w9r3]http://nebackcountry.blogspot.com/2011/06/western-greenway-expands-dream-is-born.html[/url:2563w9r3]
My only complaint is the amount of poison ivy on the trails between Chestnut Street and the ball field.
Note that there is a trail building event coming up on this Sunday, June 26th. Details are on the Greater Boston NEMBA site here: [url:2563w9r3]http://www.gbnemba.org/entry/6262011-new-singletrack-at-lone-tree-hill-in-belmont[/url:2563w9r3]
