I got an Airborne Goblin. Not thanks to the alum hardtail, and the 29er. As far as HTs go the new XTC Advanced 27.5 would be more my style. Seriously, 61% of MTBers are on AM bikes? Does that mean 75% of them have too much bike?
Full disclosure I work fro a Giant dealership. Also I’m weird. I loved the Talon 27.5, but not the Trance 27.5. Go figure, and I am in the minority. Get the Talon 4 if you can float an extra $300 for a SR Suntour Raidon and have plans of eventually upgrading to a different bike in a few years. If you want a bike that you’ll be happy with for a long time because you have no intention of getting another one, get the Talon 1. That fork isn’t too bad. I know nothing about the Treks. But I really like how the Talons handled our local trails.
