I had a few big box “mountain” bikes in high school. I had no clue what I was doing. They fit horribly never shifted right all sorts of issues typical of box store bikes. They were so bad that I got out of the sport for 8 years before getting fitted on a real mountain bike and have been hooked ever since.
Not sure I buy the double the force but it is a lot more comfortable on your hands. I still prefer T handle Allen Keys for the feel and control.
Day 29. Hardest day yet for me. Rain + a steady 20+ mph wind. I did just a quick spin around the block. dodging all manner of things being blow around. Tomorrow’s weather looks like more of the same. Oh well not going to quit now only one more day left.
Cheers to every one who took on the Challenge we can all use a round tomorrow.
Jamie,
A few questions for you
What size crank arms are you running? What type of pedals do you have? Also do the pedals hit the tires when you turn the bars?
I’m thinking some fit adjustment will help a great deal. Personally I wouldn’t down size to a 26 inch wheel and tire on a 29er. it may open more issues like lower BB height and how the bike handles.
Sunset over Presque Isle Bay in Erie PA on Day 18
Funrover, you are clearly having too much fun.
Been having good luck with my day off another great day today
My blog post for day 17.
http://30daysofbikingerie.blogspot.com/ … ntcom.htmlThe past 2 days for me have been quick spins around the block Yesterday was 33* and raining today was 26* with a little ice and snow on the ground.
"Funrover" wrotesince my shoes froze to the pedals a one point. Whoever honked, waved and gave me a thumbs up thank you for that! Made me smile.
You my friend are nuts, awesome but nuts. On the waves and thumbs up I got one myself the other day it dose make you feel warm and fuzzy. on 16 more days to go before we can share in a round of drinks for taking on this challenge.
I’m no where near as good as Greg with this blog writing but here is my recap of day 10 http://30daysofbikingerie.blogspot.com/ … -soul.html
Finally got a chance to hit dirt yesterday. Rode 2 new trails in mid 60* weather only down side was a nasty amount of wind.
Dirty bike = clean soul
Today was a nice quick spin with the boss. Today is our 6th year together and what better way to celebrate then riding together.
Hopefully tomorrow will be my first day to get some dirt on my tires this year. Rain and the spring thaw as left everything mess here.
Got in a nice ride this morning. The trails are still thawing out so still on asphalt for me.
I got lucky today it was just in the low 30s and windy. The rest of the week doesn’t look so good for me weather wise rain threw sat with severe thunderstorms Friday. Oh well its part of the challenge right.
Sunrise on day 1
Erie PA Bayfront still frozen day 2
1 down 29 to go. Its going to be a fun month.
I need to get a crossbike of some sort for days like that. Thanks for sharing.
I’m ready to put some miles under my tires this April. Though typical April showers look to keep my off dirt for the first part of April.
I can’t wait to share a round in spirit with every one on May 1
"mtbgreg1" wroteDefine "ready" 😀
I’m planning to take Sunday and Monday off & rest so I can come into the beginning of april at least sort of refreshed.
When you put it that way I guess I’m ready. I did give the bike a good lube and adjusted my cockpit a little some its more comfortable.
Got a week to go before the start of the Challenge. Who’s ready? I know I’m not
I wish I was closer to the two rides you guys have planned the look like great trails.
