finished my first race in the Black Hills. No hunting involved don’t know if I would have the energy to shoot. Did scare some turkeys off the trail though

    in reply to: Falling #118548

Me do something stupid never happens. I don’t fall on every ride that’s just the good stories, my wife does Spartan races so some blood has no effect on my love life.

IMO if your not bleeding after a ride you didn’t go hard enough. Pain heals and chicks dig scars.Ride hard and have fun

the home gym has been used a lot lately. The weather has not been good for about 2 weeks freezing rain with snow on top, down trees and very wet trail. Glad I have it or would be sitting around doing nothing. Race coming up in a month can’t afford to get lazy now.

Keep rockin the weight loss feels great when you reach your goal and you have more energy than you know what to do with. Speaking from recent personal experience, no longer the fat guy that can’t keep up with my kids

Really like having my own gym in my basement. I have a good treadmill, assortment of kettle bells, and lifting machine, even a rope to climb on my deck. Some other various equipment, but the ones listed are what I use most. I like having my own stuff because I can grunt and strain without other people watching me and at every gym I’ve been to there is always the guy that wants to talk more than lift, not that I don’t like people, but not the right time for socializing

today it’s about 35 in Sioux Falls SD when I was shoveling had to get down to a sweatshirt had a good sweat rolling. The weather is very unpredictable this time of year we had 60 last week.

good to know I’m not the only crazy person, but you have to admit it’s a lot of fun. I think I need some studded snow tires on my bike more freezing rain and snow today

in reply to: Am I insane #117967

Think I’ll stick with the bike considering how much I fell, still had a lot of fun

in reply to: front brakes rub #117839

sometimes you gotta go caveman style, big club and hit hard if it still doesn’t work repeat I think I beat it into submission no more rubbing.

my prayers and condolences to the family also at least he went out doing something he loved

in reply to: front brakes rub #117837

nevermind figured out I somehow bent the mount where the caliper attaches to the fork not even a cool scar don’t know what I did. Hammer took care of the problem, old mechanics cure if it doesn’t work hit it harder

in reply to: Serious as a Heart Attack #117597

Trying to teach my kids about healthy eating now we also got the horrible genitcs both my parents and my older sister have had heart attacks. My wife and I just lost a bunch of weight and are now teaching our kids that all the fast food and junk food are not good for you the are still pretty young so we have good chance. They are resisting some of the veggies now we should have probably started sooner. I know you will be back on your bike soon and good luck on recovery. Always live life to the fullest have fun while your on earth

in reply to: Serious as a Heart Attack #117589

good luck on recovery have not had heart attack myself but bad family history really puts into perspective the meds I have to take to not have one just turned 42 and still think that I’m too young to have heart problems but very thankful for modern medicine and healthy eating hopefully keep it away for awhile good luck and keep after it

    in reply to: introduction #117490

that sounds like a fun new sport mount the gun on your bike and chase the turkey instead of calling them

in reply to: Should I wear a helmet for biking? #117537

I agree don’t want to drag myself or anyone else of the trail with CSF or blood draining from their head
