    FBTrek,

just go to freeflite bicycles (where I work 😀 ) and get a trek 3500 or Skye for under $400.

I have the 3500 and it is great for the pavement/grass but I overhauled mine for the trails! 😆

    My 2 cents worth.

Thank dude. I always wear a helmet like I always wear a seatbelt. What shin/knee pads would you suggest? Also, full faced helmet or not?

    Also,

When you do your urban magic, do you and Joco amour up?

If we got together at Dalton, GA, would I need some armour?

    in reply to: Frames!!! #91585

Sweet dude! I’m jealous! Haha! Same here I live in a little town called Acworth and it is a little over an hour away from Dalton.

Just wondering, what freeride tires do you use Chili?

I roll with Nevegals for sure dirt grip and then Holy Rollers or K-Rads for the rest. Urban you just cannot beat the Holy Rollers or K-Rads, which work for hardpack trails as well.

Yeah man. GoldenGoose is the only other guy I ride with often. Once I get my licsence in February I will be free!!! Lol. Yeah bro! Man if you guys come up here sometime, I would love to meet Joco. He is awesome! Man I would love to tear up some urban/freeride/singletrack with you guys!

Thanks dude. Man I want to try some urban stuff out. Do you know any good place here in Georgia? Preferably north of Atlanta.

Yo chili! Can you tell me how much tire clearance the transition frame has? Thanks!

    in reply to: Frames!!! #91580

Hey guys thanks for those other posibilities. Now I’m looking at the sinister ridge and the transition transAM. I’m leaning toward the transAM because of cost. (even though I work in a bike shop and get discounts) Any suggestions or experiences to change my mind? 😆

Excellent choice my friend. I ride a $360 trek 3500 now and your bike is like a "BMW" compared to "Prius." Take care of it and it will take care of you.

    Don’t worry.

Hey chili! It has been a while since I have been to Florida. But I get to go sailing in the keys in about 2 weeks! Nothing but a relaxing week on a sail boat! Gotta love Boyscout events.

Acctually, boyscout has taugh me a lot of life skills like first aide and cooking and personal fitness and "people skills" which I use almost everytime I go out on the trails.

    Little bit off topic… Oops…

Just hang the tube up from one of the ends and all the water will drip out. For the valve, I hang it upside down. That is why I use paper towels, other things will fall out. Sorry, I forgot to add that to the other post 😄

Hey man! Don’t spend all the money to get those tools. If you are only using water in your bladder, take a clean rag and wash it out with warm water. Then hang it up in the sunlight with the top off of it with a couple of lightly crumpled up paper towels inside. Should be dry by the time you wake up the next morning.

Hope you didn’t buy anything yet. Everyone try this out before you buy one of those expensive kits. Then buy the kit if this doesn’t do it for you.

    TKM29er,

Where do you live? Like what state, Country, or major city nearby? It will helps us figure out what terrain you ride and help us with tire suggestions etc.

Nice GG! Is it still considered mountain biking if you don’t fall off the bike at least once?
