  • Probably Mailboxes @ UCSC,

Annadel State Park was also super fun, looking forward to going back to both now that spring break is here.

Lift serve downhill much closer to where the population is. For me living in the SF Bay area my closest lift serve downhill is Northstar which is 3.5 hours away! There is mountains and plenty of elevation a lot closer to the major population centers. Obviously it wouldn’t be as much as Whistler but a lot can be made out of a little (see Spider mountain in Texas), and I know they would get ridden quite a lot year round, considering there is no snow in the lower elevations. Probably not an innovation but still.

Some of the new bike racks these days have wires integrated into them to keep your bike safe. It’s pretty cool ’cause it gives you the opportunity to use your truck…… but that sort of defeats the purpose of the truck…. You could always keep some wire in your truck and lock your bikes to the truck….

If you added a link of your bike we could help you a bit more!

@Alvin BTW 96BCD was the WRONG chainring. Only Shimano XT and XTR cranks work with 96bcd, Deore and I imagine SLX use 104bcd….. Just so you know from now on!

100% aircraft has great ventilation which you might enjoy if you’r are planning on wearing it for regular rides as well. The Fly Werx also get’s similar comments.

If you are planning on wearing a full face for trail riding as well why don’t you get the Giro Switchblade? Meets all the downhill standards and you will probably enjoy not having a covered chin when you are trail riding…. plus if the descents are gnarly you can put on the chin protector…

The XT chainring was the wrong size for my cranks, 96 XT and my cranks are 104 (bcd) so ended up buying one from the shop… Also installed the dropper, the instructions we HORRIBLE but it was fairly straight forward..

I started my swap yesterday, got a XT NW to go 1x with. Thing is that my cranks th Deore Hollowtech II require a special tool to take them off. So I have to take the bike to the shop to get them to take the cranks off for me, I’ll get them to put on the Chainring as well… then I’ll put on the chain when I get home. Was quite the headache actually taking the FD off….!   🙁

Yeah that’s true…! WIsh there was a way to get the best of both worlds….!  🙂   Would really like a shuttle but at the same time cluttered trails aren’t very desirable.

in reply to: anyone use a dropper post and DI2? #208902

The Fox transfer is external and it is probably much better than the DOSS but I wouldn’t know, there are tons and tons of externally routed droppers our there these days….

    hahahahahaha 😛   😀

You can always buy a dropper yourself… this will allow you to get the one you want…. I’d say get the Ghost..!

Well, I decided to go with the Fuji Reveal 1.1 a 27.5 trail bike…. loving super stoked and doing some things to help make it the ultimate bike for me… getting a dropper, switching to 1X11 and in the future hoping to get a new wheelset, and switch brake calipers to SLX….! Cheers!   😀
