ok i no longer see those far away dream trails on my possible check ins. thanks. and the delete feature soon to come should solve my other issues of seeming like a poser to my heckling buddies. location services are on but i just now turned on the google/wifi locations so hopefully that will resolve my local trails issue. using a droid razr.

that would be great if you could delete those check ins for me. the check in options it gives me are "18 Road Trails" and "Breaks Interstate Park". i havent ridden either trail. no check ins so far on my newly downloaded app. i am in alabama and using an android. thanks in advance.

My acct still shows I have an unearned Sherriff badge for breaks interstate park and Virginia rider badge and Colorado rider badge. None of these are accurate and I can’t find how to remove them. Sadly I have never ridden in Colorado or Virginia. 😢

Yea I’ll definitely have to go back. I’ve heard of FivePoints but can’t find anything on here about it.

85 views and no insight at all?! Cane creek and LBS did some research and were very helpful at answering my questions. Will be installed next week

Iron Legs, and the rails at Coleman lake but Coleman lake might be too much drive time for you

Coldwater Mtn here in anniston is a must. Sylaward trail at lake Howard in sylacauga is fun. And the other local trails are fun. It’ll be a drive but look for iron legs in anniston and Coleman lake trails.

Thanks for some great advice. It is dual suspension. I hadn’t thought about rear rebound. I will play with the settings as soon as I get it back from LBS. I had some stripped threads from the bleed screw of the shimano slx brake reservoir. So I’m now waiting on shimano to send replacement.

I live in Anniston and word is that by April there "should" be 10 or so miles to ride. I can’t wait to have that so close. It is projected that over the next 4-6 years that the remaining trails will be built, totaling 50ish miles. SWEET!!! hope everything comes through as planned and hope it will help the city as well.

Thanks Weedy. That was very informational. Any thoughts on taking the 3×10 on the rumblefish and changing it to a 2×10 with a low weight bash guard? Would that equal out to less cross chaining and still having the benefits of the lower gearing in a 3×10? 💡

What about the DRCV fork on the trek? Anyone have any experience or opinions on this? Its about the only other major component difference. The small differences I can live with or swap out. Fork on the other hand gets too pricey for me to buy a different on.

Thanks man. Im new to this site and grateful for the opinions and help. Yet another reason im attracted to this sport is the mountain bike community itself. Good people.

Another question. The "Fish" has a 3×10, the Stumpy has 2×10. pros and cons?

The one shop i deal with sells both brands. If i’m correct they both weigh close to the same at around 29lbs. for a large frame. I’ve spent a little time on both bikes (no trail rides though) and both bikes feel like a good fit yet are different in their own way if that makes any sense. I’m leaning towards the specialized as "dgaddis" stated. I have a tendancy to be rough on equipment 😼 and like to ride everything from XC to some sketchy downhills and rocky stuff. I’ve even recently gotten into some local racing though i’m not out to have the lightest bike and win every race i like to ride and compete with fellow riders and travel to trails i wouldn’t normally ride. I guess you could say i’m looking for a bike that will handle a little bit of everything. I think both are up to the task but its gonna come down to preference as previously stated by others.

I’ll check into that one. Thanks for the suggestion. The only drawback for me is that my LBS is Trek and Specialized and want to support the shop due to the great support he has shown me.
