The demise of American made bikes is a disappointment to the biking community. That used to be one of the coolest things about cannondales and treks. I trusted them more too.

I find it hard to believe that with all these abandoned factories and laid off workers that we can’t make a decent bicycle for less than 4 or 5k. The few custom builders that I’ve talked to only cater to rich, elitist cyclists and scoff at bikes in the $1000 range. Yeah, these guys are awesome and talented fabricators but, come on! The days of making $90.00 an hour to weld are over. SAD FOR AMERICA!

After much public anger, the county executive has done a 175 degree turn on his ridiculous proposal. What he claimed was a 10 million dollar shortfall has become a 5 mil, then a 2 million dollar shortfall. They have taken the park closures out of the deal but still plan on laying off dozens of park employees.

I’ve been testing the Airborne Taka for the past six months. I honestly think it’s probably the best 26" full sush deal out there. I personally ride mine on all sorts of trails, up and downhill. I’ve been able to slay jumps and drops that I would have never attempted on any other bike. I have several bikes to choose from, some costing three times what the Taka costs. This thing sees more trail then all the others combined. Check the internet for reviews. You can’t go wrong if you like aggressive riding. Probably the best 1400 bucks you will ever spend.

Video of my flight crew bro, Dan Lucas killin it on the Taka.

    in reply to: 27.5"??? #87896

I’ve been spending some time on a 650b lately, and I have to say, It is exactly what you think it would be. Great rollover, very fast with excellent traction. Has 26" trailbike tendencies for launching off off of logs and drop offs. Can pull wheelies, manuals and hops but requires a tad more muscle that a 26 to execute. The overall size and weight of the platform is what makes it so right for me personally. Not too big, still nimble and very fast with the additional traction. I am hoping the 27.5 sticks around for a while. It’s the right wheel, right now.
