I heard a couple different stories on what happened to the gecko boat. Transom failure, turbine failure, fire and delamination…
I’ve got an older mod-C boat powered by a worked yamaha 30 (motor threw a rod)… I’ve got to build a powerhead for it!!

UT, I think I’ve been to "the watershed" in jeeps a few years back! Might just see you on the trials at tanasi monday!! My bike is white and BRIGHT orange. Holler if we pass!

Thanks Mike, will check it out.

Yea we were there sunday, didn’t get to make it to the pits though. What team are you involved with?

Looks like the Tanasi Trail System will be enjoying our company for a day or two. 😄

Any locals care to join us monday, tuesday or wednsday (28-30th)?

A 3 mile mtb ride through the woods to work saves lots of gas money.

in reply to: Do you ride with your dog? #106372

My dog is very well behaved and have taken her on lots of rides through the local park. We always went on the weekdays when the park wasn’t busy. Her only problem was she got completely exhausted in about 20 minutes.

Then she had knee surgery for a torn crutiate ligament. Two thousand bucks and she’s almost good as new after 2 years of working with her to use the leg consistently. Now I just walk with her through the trails.

A caution for ya’ll!!! I did take her for a ride on a warmer humid day. All of a sudden she started looking like she was hearing weird noises and was paranoid about the surroundings, then with in 10 seconds she couldn’t walk and was delirious! Luckily we weren’t far from the truck, I picked her up and ran her to the truck. Put her in the front seat with the A/C WFO in her face and wiped cool water all over her. She snapped back pretty quick but scared the hell out of me!

Went home and did research, all the symptoms were of heat exhaustion. Dog’s pant to cool themselves (from evaporation), when it’s really humid out it dampers their ability to regulate their temperature! If you notice symptoms, get the dog cool by means of water and/or fan ASAP!

in reply to: Are all mtn bikers alcoholics? #106012

Yea I came through but stopped before crossing the path. The dude with the gopro gave me the go ahead, so I went.

I saw your wife and son but not you!

I did all the drops but I’m afraid I’ll be walking out with two unicycles if I continue… WFO Niner is being built soon!

Alcoholics go to meetings. The only "meetings" I go to are hash’s.

I know mtb bikers who love to drink but I also know non athletic people who love to drink.

Kind of like asking if all people who consume alcohol are alcoholics.

A little late on the post, but some friends and I are heading to GFT in the morning. We’ll be there about 9am. Rode there today and it was GGGREAT! 😬

A couple buddies and I were talking about riding that Saturday. Santos or somewhere…
I’m sure they would be down for something closer.

I’m going to try and get out there tomorrow.
My steed is rearing to go…

in reply to: Bulging Disk! #88814

I have two bulging discs and some arthritis junk in another in my lower back. I think the pain that I have now is from the loss of muscle mass as a result of me moving and not riding (dirt bikes) or excercising as much as I used to. I’m 23 and have had the pain for two years now.

I tried cortisone shots (which only relieved the pain for about 4 weeks), chiropractic (which was a complete waste) and physical therapy (I could do every excercise/stretch easily with no excess pain so I only went once). The docs told me to take it easy for a while and it should/could get better. After a year and a half of resting and being in near constant pain I decided to get back into what I was doing before moving. I started riding mountain bikes and motocross againas wel as just plain old stretching and excercise. This is the best my back has felt in 2 years! I still have some bad days but nothing that keeps me down.

I have found that stretch my hammys with toes touches, heel drops/raises and some Wii yoga has helped a ton!

in reply to: wet sand in XTR rear derailleur issues #91537

Well I think I figured out the problem… The derailleur was out of adjustment and I could only use the upper 8 gears (out of 9). Adjusted it correctly and all was well… up until today when I ripped the derailleur off 😠

in reply to: wet sand in XTR rear derailleur issues #91535

There is definitely not an over abundance of lube on the chain! It must have just been the 5"+ of wet sand that eventually accumulated on the chain/sprockets.

And maddslacker, I can’t help it if Im a beast and ride the toughest stuff possible. 😆
Ask CP about be taking the tough routes.

in reply to: wet sand in XTR rear derailleur issues #91532

No, I was in some woods out by Lake Washington (old dirtbike/jeep trails). The sand was deeper than any of the sand at Whickam! But I was feeling like the Hulk and charged right through… well as hard as I could with the bike going up or down two gears.

CP, it was definately a good time riding this weekend! I wish I could get out Wednsday and ride with ya’ll.

Hope to get out there and ride again soon!

Sweet, well I’ll be joining ya’ll for the bikes maiden voyage…

I can’t say I have been through downtown melbourne during the day to scope the riding there and the times I have been down there have been late and rather hazy for some reason… no way could it be alcohol induced! 😆

Whicham park is about the only spot I go, jogging and biking. I have a BRIGHT blue lifted tacoma, its stands out like a sore thumb.
Used to bicycle and ride pitbikes at the bum trails but the last couple times there it seemed everything was getting plowed down (havent been there in about two years), maybe I’ll go check it out tomorrow morning before work.

Are the turkey creek trails off Milwakee? I know people used to (maybe they still do) take trucks and motorbikes out there.

I got it used from a guy who just moved to palm bay from tampa and needs money.

Ive been jogging and biking between noon and 1:30 for the past few weeks and dont mind the Floida heat. I havent ridden anything in palm bay but have heard some good stroies about it (at least in the past). Im down for anything, anytime.

    Sending you a PM

I’ll be picking up the bike either Thurs. or Friday and down for a ride this weekend. The bike needs an hour or so of love then its ready to rip. CP what time do you usually ride?

Snoop Doug here, checking in from Melbourne Fl. I rode riding motocross for most of my life but have gotten away from that in recent years due to a back injury. I havent ridden bicycles for a while, but am getting back into it with the purchase of a Stumpy Elite. Ive notice that I have a six pack protector slowly growing over my stomach and I’m not too fond of it at the ripe age of 23. 😆

I can’t wait to get out there and ride with some of ya’ll!
