Thank you all for the well wishes. I picked up my bike from the shop on Friday. I just wanted a tune up, but the owner did a complete check and even washed her for me. Then he only charged me $25.00. I asked him why, and he said he just wants to get me back out there as soon as possible. Such a great community!
I take my pup on almost every ride. Check out some of my photos and the fun we’ve had.

You are right, I had forgotten about this. Thanks for brining it back up. I’ll remember to watch my back this summer on Steven Creek.
March 17, 2015 at 17:25 in reply to: Singletrack trails at near Ketchikan, Alaska worth riding? #126908I had the same issue a few years ago when my wife and I took an Alaskan cruise. I posted looking for insights about riding trails while in Alaska, but no one was able to help. I cut my losses and just enjoyed Alaska. Ketchikan was my favorite stop on the cruise. It is a beautiful area. We ended up going on a bear watching tour, sampling the local food (ALOT), and checking out the local Klinkit artwork.
If you are into hiking and you are making a stop in Skagway check out the Chilcoot trail. It is a little way out of town and you’d have to hitch a ride, but the views are worth it.
As for biking, I don’t know if you are leaving from Washington or Vancouver. If your port is Vancouver spend a day there and rent a bike. Stanley Park has many miles of trails (some paved), and you are not far from Whistler.
Have a great trip!

That is a big enough CON for me… I guess I won’t be ordering one.
It’s gold plated over a standard aluminum frame.[/quote:3fbk2iyk]
Well that changes everything! Put me down for 3 of them.

I’m a big guy… I’d hate to think what would happen if one of those little pads were to break. I don’t think I’d have to worry about male impotence ever again. 😕
Thanks Jeff! I just placed my order! 😃

Is "Erie" a mis-spelling or just a bad Pennsylvania pun? 😆
Looks like a great time, dispite the downfalls!
Welcome to the site and the sport! I’m sure that Fuji will be updated soon!
Where is Concord?
"gar29" wrote[quote="PSUtuna":22zoggap]I’m an avid hunter. In fact I usually put the bike down Sept-Jan when it is hunting season. Anyhow, I use my bike every Spring Gobbler season to get further back in the National Forest than other hunters are willing to walk. It is much quiter than walking in also.
As for dragging a deer out by bike… I’ll leave that up to the professionals…
Great idea for turkey season. I will have to try that next spring. Do you use a sling for your gun? Or some kind of case?[/quote:22zoggap]
I use my crossbow and yes I use a sling. I can carry everything else in my vest. The tricky part is strapping a dead bird to the handle bars. Bungie cords work well.

Doubt it… somehow… someway… 😆

Now that you mention it, is has been raining a lot here the last couple of weeks …[/quote:3g2j1cdc]
Well, I’m on my way back to ga so you should be good… At least for the next 3 weeksSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2[/quote:3g2j1cdc]
So, I wake up this morning and turn on the local news. They are calling for rain all this week.
Welcome back Greg! BLAH! 😆
I use an old piece of garden hose and a few zip-ties. Works great. After awhile lizardskins and even tubes can get tore up. I can use the same section of garden hose the entire season.
If you are one of those "crazy gram counting people," lizardskins makes a carbon fiber protector that works well.
August 9, 2013 at 06:57 in reply to: Shoes, Socks, Shorts, Jersey, Helmet, Glasses, Gloves … #121375Sounds like you are getting the rain out west now. In rained almost every day here in the south during the month of July. I almost missed a month of riding time. Was finally able to get out the past two weeks. So, we feel your pain!
Welcome aboard Daniel!
You don’t have to be an expert to ride, you just gotta have fun doing what you love!
I know how you feel. Sometimes I can ride all day without tiring, and hit every root, rock, and berm perfectly. A few weeks ago I rode every trail in a system twice just because I was having such a good time. Then there are other days that I feel like I’m peddling in sand the whole trail. I really can explain it. I’ve tried skipping the gym the day before a ride, eating certain foods, and riding at different times, but I can’t duplicate the results. Some days you got it and some days you don’t. Either way I’m just happy to be out on the trail no matter my performance. 😃
Great pics! You’ve got some awesome scenery for riding!
