It’s GREAT that you’re back! work back into it gradually. soon you’ll be flyin’ again. congratty’s on the fine little ones you have there. ‘fore you know it, they’ll be ridin’ with you. 😃
I ride a 20mm thru axle. I also have a 1.5 steerer on my fork. The steering is point and shoot! I can’t believe how noodly and laterally flexy a standard QR feels now by comparison. especially when turning. that’s why they are going for the 15mm thru with a tapered headtube as the new standard. totally get the thru axle stuff. it really IS worth it. 😎
You riders have animal DNA. High fives all around. 😀
I suggest you get good at the easier lines, then explore new lines and the challenge it brings. You will improve your skills and fitness and it keeps your local trails fresh. 😎
I can’t stand running out of water with plenty of trail left.
I hate it when trail groomers dumb down and
remove gnar and technical sections of trail. 😈 See-Ya!Seeing anyone over 60 years young ripping a trail. also, when you see a rider clean a section of trail you thought was impossible, pretty much. then there’s the beauty of every trail and type of landscape I have rolled . Oh, I can’t forget the many times I was passed and harshly DROPPED, by great female riders. 😳
The 34 will allow you to stay in the middle ring longer when you get caught on a steep climb in the wrong gear. It will add a tiny bit of weight to the cassette. where i ride there are some shorter, but steep climbs, and my bike is heavy, so the 34 is primo for me. I suggest you try the 34. It’s nice to have a bail-out gear, even if you don’t use it that often. 😎
