Dogs don’t belong on trails, sorry, I’ve had to squirt a 100 pounder with the water bottle to keep it from biting me on the trail, the rule on that trail reads," a 6 ft leash, and do not harass the wildlife", dogs chase everything, run deer to death, what chance does a turkey, or other wildlife have? The best thing that can happen to them is to get sprayed by a skunk, I hope the owner gets sprayed too, I like dogs but not on the trail.

That helmet looks good for shorter rides but for the long summer runs a bicycle helmet would be a better choice, Costco also has a Bell Bicycle helmet for around $25.00, if they are still in stock in the store you go to, I picked one up for a spare, at that price I’d buy both.. good luck, nothing is better then good luck..

I’m using a digital camera too, I tried a handlebar mount, and it just don’t work on the ruff trails we have in Michigan, I now bolt, and rubberband the camera to a strap around my neck, I have to get another strap to go around my chest, to stop the camera from bouncing, but it does mount the camera higher more in a riders eye position, and my knees and body take out more of the jolts.
You can check out my vid below 64 yr old…and that is shot on the smoother part of that trail system.
Thanks for posting, nice scenery there..

in reply to: Need help with a bike rack setup #91201

A pick up truck is the easiest way to haul a bike, you don’t even need a rack, put the front wheel against something and strap it down, the forks will compress and hold the bike, as long as you have front suspension, you may beable to put the wheel in the corner against the box and the bed and strap it that way then angle the back of the bike toward the back of the truck, you can hold the back of the bike with a bunge cord or make a wooden rack to hold the front and back wheel in place, you should beable to do most of that without drilling any holes. Good Luck

I’ve lost 25 to 30 lbs this year and most in the last month that I’ve been riding on the trail, I rode the mountain bike on the road before that, trails are a better workout for me, there is alot of information on Youtube for maintance, set up and even some trails in your area. This site seems a better place to get answers to questions.
I have a computer on my bike, it helps me keep track of my lap times, average speed and that helps me judge my progress, that seems to help with weight loss. It’s nice to see progress,, good luck and happy trails..

sounds familiar! I started riding 14 years ago dropped around 93 pounds rode everyday for about two years, then I bought a sport fisher and after that a race car so my riding completely stopped, needles to say I gained my weight back and got alot older (51).so now due to the economy and a new perceptive on health I’m back on it, I’m having to start a little slower and a bit more cautious but having known the how it felt to be in that kind of shape, I will chase it down once again!
