Madds posts are hilarious because all I can envision is Cartman yelling at people…

In madds defense… Bonsai, you went a bit overboard on your thoughts about the Geaux tires..

    Just my opinoin.

You guys should "hug it out"..

^^^ What the heck ever dude….."Just my opinion as well….hahahaha!!!"

They are terrible tires, ain’t nothing overboard about that…I said my working & riding opinion (thoughts) of them, speaking for our LBS’s as well, and I have that right to my own personal opinion/feedback on them as well as YOU & Madd, but there ain’t NO need for hate from either one of you over a damned opinion/feedback.

Like I previously said, I am out of here, as I don’t have time for ego trips and hate….Adi-freaking-os!!

Damn Madd, whats up with all the hate towards me?!?!? 😮 As you can obviously and you so elegantly re-posted from the deep depths of the PAST, it says "XC". I am not XC bro, and never will be, so they are weak to me and will never work for my discipline riding. I need some strong cranks that will hold up, including the BBB as well. Jeez!! 😏

Now stop putting things in the incorrect context (out of context other words) and freaking move on with this topic.

Jeez, no wonder why I do not frequent these sites anymore or very rarely, as the ego trip is still so damn inflamed…hahahaha

    ……Adios

They are horrible tires, and just about all the LBS’s here will not even mess with them they are so horrible. I have a set of Geax tires now on one of my bikes and those are the worst tires i have ever mounted.

Is this just like my horrible Race Face crankset that is still running three years later with no issues?

Different tires for different conditions. Florida and Colorado are incredibly different.[/quote:6390oi50]
    ++++++1

    Yes, they are very different.

BTW Madd, to each their own on the crankset issues or thing you are having…LOL I have nothing against any RF products, as i have a few RF products, including my D2 stems which i totally love per say…LOL. Of course with I am more of a Truvativ crankset man…hahaha.

    Uggggh…Geax tires!!! 😏

Sorry madd, the mass speaks for those horrible Geax tires….hahaha 😆

Oh yeah, I did forget to add about the Ardents, they shed the mud and wet soil faster and better than the Nevegals.

in reply to: What tires are you running? #109577

Maxxis Ardents on most all of my steeds, and then my big steed has Nevegal up front and Ardent in the rear. Ardents have awesome grip like the Nevegalls, but roll much faster and are much lighter as well. Even the Ardent dual casing DH tires compared to the same of the Nevegals are lighter and much faster…hahaha.

Thanks Mike, will check it out.

Yea we were there sunday, didn’t get to make it to the pits though. What team are you involved with?

Ahh cool! I am involved with Team Twisted Offshore & Team JD Byrider (some of the Byrider brothers), but know some of the team crews with Team Lucas, Team Instigator, and a couple guys on the Miss Geico Team, among a few others that were not there. It sucks that Miss Geico had to scratch the race due to hull de-lamination issues. Joco was really bummed, as that is his team along with Team Blacksands.

I used to race the smaller hydro boast class and V-class power boats when I was younger, but they did not have the bigger & such sophisticated engines they have now….LOL. We just raced with the ole Mercury racing outboards and hit speeds up to 100mph….hahaha.

Doug, you gotta hit up Windrock my friend. That place is off the hook when it comes to riding. From XC to big DH. Check it out while up there.

BTW, were you at the Super Boat Race Sunday? My teams pulled off a couple wins…hahaha. Going to head over to Sarasota next month for the next race.

in reply to: Rolling Resistance #109269

Nevegals are solid gripping by far, but yes, they do have more rolling resistance. The compromise is the Maxxis Ardents. They have the same solid grip & treading of the Nevegal, but are lighter, and much faster tires (lower rolling resistance).

I was introduced to the Ardents not too long ago, so I tried them, and I was amazingly impressed with the results. I have always rolled with Nevegals with the exception of trying a few others, but the Ardents are awesome tires.

    Just my two cents…… 😉

    Good luck!

That’s scary that he knocked himself out multiple times. That sort of stuff leads to long term permanent brain damage.

Hahahahaha……As your signature so explicitly states….."If you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong."

    That’s freerding! 😄

in reply to: DH Shoes #108419

My favorite is the 5.10 Rennie High, but they do not make these anymore that I am aware of, so when I replace the Rennie’s I have, I will replace them with the 5.10 Desert Enforcer High, Karver, or Cyclone. I like the high protection around the ankles and has saved my ankles on a few occasions by far.

For urban street, I like the low impacts like the Freerider (black, grey, or white), Baron, or the Hellcat.

If you want just simple, then fly with either the 5.10 Impact High or Impact Low. Great shoe all around by far. 😄

in reply to: DH Shoes #108416

Hands down 5.10’s are the very best for DH/FR. Some Vans and some DC are really good for the FR, but as I said, the 5.10’s are hands down the best gripping DH/FR shoes on the market. 😄

Anytime!! I am stoked that this has helped so many.

Congrats to all who have pushed themselves to better their riding skills….KUDOS to you!!! 😄

in reply to: Made in America! #101447

Sinister Bikes are all made in the NH area (all USA fabricated). Sick bikes too!! 😄

All my Iron Horse’s & SC Bullit were made/built in the USA. IH’s are ’06-’07 & Bullit is an ’07.

I feel great that i am still rocking on all American bikes… 😄

Hahahaha, the video was probably re-loading at that time, as I posted the wrong video at first. I am finished with it now…LOL. Yeah that is a very fast DH section he is running down. It is the service road heading into the pit, so they utilized it for the run, as you need mad speed to make the case plate alone…LOL. He was cruising at least 35mph or better. When he did it on my steed, he was easily pushing 40mph…LOL

in reply to: Is it just me? #107355

I cannot stand a cycling jersey, but I do like the DH and FR jersey’s though. They are far more comfortable and fit better, plus they are breathable and still wick sweat away quickly. I also like them because they dry quickly, even while wearing it, whereas regular T’s do not, they stay soaked. I do wear T’s when it gets chilly enough though, usually with under armor beneath to wick sweat away. 😉

in reply to: type of bike #107264

For under $1000, used my friend is in your budget. Nothing new under that budget unfortunately. 😢

What type DH are you speaking of. For just flying down a smooth track DH run, you can run about anything bro, but for more gnarly terrain, especially with features thrown is as well, you will need to step up on your travel and a more beefy frame.

If you want just casual riding cloths for your wife, then Capri’s are the very best in the long run unless she wants bike specific spandex….LOL. My wife and quite a few other woman riders I know ride in Capri’s. They are comfortable, cooler, and are shorter than pants….. 😉

Good luck, happy riding, and glad to see another family riding together….. 😄

in reply to: History of Mongoose #106732

Hey Schwim, they do have high end Mongoose MTB’s and BMX’s as well that are not even closely related to Wally World, K-Mart, Target, or Toys-R-Us….. 😆 😆 😆

I used to own a Black Diamond Triple that was off the hook for DH racing and FR. They have all kinds of higher end MTB’s, DJ’s, BMX’s to choose from that are really tip top bikes. We have several riders riding the Nugget, Pinn’r, Boot’r, Teocali, and Ritual among others as well.

I too grew up on Mongoose, Redline, and Raleigh bikes and loved them all, and sometime I miss those good ole days… 😄
