I bought my SS rigid 29er a few months back and I absolutely LOVE this bike! It is simple and its clean and Ive put around 300 miles on the local trails here in Arkansas, one of which is pretty technical. The bike is geared 32 x 18 and works great for me. I love the challenge of trying to climb all the hills, but if I cant I like the workout I get from getting off an on the bike. Pulling on the bars also works my core and arms more that if I were on a geared bike. I do plan on putting a suspension fork on the bike, down hill technical sections will beat you up a bit. I still have my geared bike but honestly if I had to pick between my $2000 dollar geared 26in bike or my 400$ rigid 29er single speed, call me crazy but the truth is I would stick with the 29er.
