Winter "Training" Plan

Personally, I hope to ride in the basement as much as possible with my daughter. She’ll be 6 in December and gets a kick out of riding with me in "her spot" since she started riding down there first.

If I’m lucky, I’ll work on my balance (trackstands with non-dominant foot forward) and if I’m motivated, I’ll keep doing the "No Gym, No Problem" workouts. If I’m not motivated, I’ll just stick with my regular PT twice a week (mandatory PT = no motivation needed!)

Anyone have else one? Real or "unofficial" like mine is fine. 😃

My winter training plan is to eat pizza and burritos and drink Coke and beer. 😆

Add watching football to that 😄

For sports I usually swim or do some iceskating

I ride all year here in GA.

My plan is to snowboard as much as I can. and ride the trainer, and rowing machine, pushups and pullups. and as much pizza as I can stomach.

      PK1

Snowboard, exercises and stretches from PT, and rides whenever it gets warm enough. Lots of pizza and beer and couch time 😀

I’ll be hitting the weights this winter. I keep losing weight unwittingly, so the plan is to make that stop. Besides that, snowshoeing, jogging, maybe the occasional spin class. We’ll see.

I like your basement bike ride idea. My daughter just dropped the training wheels this year, and I’m thinking she’d get a kick out of that too.

Why not keep racing??? There are winter races all over the place now, whereas 5 years ago there may have been 3 winter snow races…

The race that I help put on in Dubuque IA has grown every year (expect a little over 100 racers this year), and most of those who race it move up a category the following year, indoor trainers suck vs. the real thing.

I don’t race in the summer, I’m definitely not going to race in the winter! 😆

The Triple D does look like one fun event though!

I’m afraid there will be a lot of indoor trainer time for me. . . that and occasional road rides. The local trails are too wet now and will probably stay that way into spring. I’ll only be able to get on them when they are frozen solid! 😢
