I broke a tooth off of the cassette, and went in for a new cassette and chain + some tools 😀
Turns out I didn’t have to take any links out of the new chain but the old one was stretch to the tune of 1/2 a link.
1.Are the quick links in the old chain worth saving?
2.Is the old chain or cassette good for anything?
3.could I have got away with keeping the cassette with a missing tooth? (I think the real problem was caused by a jammed bent link on the chain) -

Yes, definitely. They’re like $4 at the LBS!

The LBS in my home town makes clocks, Uses chains and a gear of some kind.
