trails from Edinburgh by train

Hi, I’m shortly visiting Edinburgh and will have one or two days free. I’m intending to take my bike and was wondering where I could get to by train in an hour or so. Few of the listed built trails mention any sort of access other than by car.

Any recommendations. Not looking for black runs but something more cross-country with great scenery.

There’s now a bus service that allows you to take your bike and it’ll give you access to Glentress and Innerleithen that both have trail centres and a plethora of natural loops. These offer some of the best trails Scotland, let alone just close to Edinburgh.
