Well, here ya go. The day we have been waiting for and a new place to ride East of Austin. Official Message from Cullen Sartor below. Thank the park while you are there for providing a new place to ride and to encourage them to extend the amount of trails there and in Bastrop.

      Hello everyone,

The moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! The trails at Buescher State Park will be open for mountain bike traffic beginning on August 15, 2013.

This project could not have been completed without countless volunteer hours. I would like to thank all of you who have taken part in this. Volunteers consisted of individuals coming out on their own time, scheduled group work days, and specialized groups. The specialized groups are members of the Friends of the Lost Pines State Parks, Central Texas Trail Tamers, Trails Across Texas crew of Texas Conservation Corps, the Student Conservation Association, and the Bridge Maniacs of the Lost Pines Master Naturalist Chapter. Trail tools were provided by Friends of the Lost Pines State Parks.

If you see any of these folks around, please give them some appreciation because they do deserve it. Please help spread the word to folks to come enjoy a great single track mountain bike ride through the Lost Pines forest of Central Texas at one of your state parks, Buescher State Park. Hope to see you on the trail.

      Thanks,

      cullen
