I’ve been considering getting a pair of Crank Brothers Egg Beater SL pedals for a while and my LBS is running a sale on Egg Beater 2Ti for $125. My question is: are the Ti pedals stronger than the SL or is it all about weight? I know titanium is stronger, but do they just use less metal to make a lighter pedal? SL pedals go for about $80 on eBay. I’m not sure if the extra money is worth dropping a bit of weight.

      I ride XC.

      Thanks!

I’m sure they probably make them just as strong or stronger.
For that price difference, I’d get them… for bragging rites, if for nothing else. LOL
Seriously. The egg beaters are designed to function with the shoes/clips, so they probably couldn’t change the design much. You ought to be able to hold them next to each other and see any differences in wall thicknesses, construction, etc. You’ll also definately feel the weight difference.
