I am looking to buy a new thule roof rack for my MT Bike (Trek Hardtail 29’er). I currently have a thule big mouth 599XTR upright ([url:1p3xj7wr]http://www.thule.com/en-us/us/products/carriers-and-racks/bike-carriers/roof-mounted-bike-carriers/thule-big-mouth-599xtr-_-13804[/url:1p3xj7wr]), but unfortunately it just hasn’t been the same since the fateful day when I tried to enter my garage with my bike on top of my car 😳 (the bike is ok)….Anyways I am "married" to a Thule product due to so many other accessories, and I really like the idea of an upright so I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on the following two products from Thule:
The Thule XT594 Side Arm [url:1p3xj7wr]http://www.thule.com/en-us/us/products/carriers-and-racks/bike-carriers/roof-mounted-bike-carriers/594xt-sidearm-_-5546509[/url:1p3xj7wr]
OR
The Thule Criterium 598 "C_Clamp Design" [url:1p3xj7wr]http://www.thule.com/en-us/us/products/carriers-and-racks/bike-carriers/roof-mounted-bike-carriers/thule-criterium-598-_-13898[/url:1p3xj7wr]Any opinions you have are greatly appreciated.

Good idea !!! I now have a "routine" where I will put my garage door opener in my glove box whenever I go for a ride, so that I can’t just push the door opener and drive into the garage.

Good idea! I went through a fast food drive through with my bike on top of my SUV. 😳 Seat got hung up on the bar that shows the height restriction! Luckily the car behind me started honking its horn and I didn’t tear anything up except a little bit of my pride!
