Terrain Mountain Bike Magazine recently launched in Australia (and worldwide thanks to the internet) and the first issue includes an article from yours truly! There’s also a great feature on riding Germany’s Alpspitze in the first issue.

We’re also working with the editor, Jurgen, to get more international trail content from Australia and beyond.

Hey pedalhound, what do you know about the trails in BC? Singletracks lists 133 MTB trails in BC but I know there are a ton more! Which ones are we missing?

Hah, that’s like asking how many fish in the sea! Just about every community in BC has amazing trails, it’s what makes BC so awesome. The issues arise when trying to map them out because a ton of them are unsanctioned or in legal grey areas. The guys at Trailforks or BikePirate may be good people to talk to about it, they would know the lay of the land better than most. On Vancouver Island (my home turf) the guy to talk to is Dan from Freak Maps and then in Vancouver Lee Lau from MTB trails.
A lot of issues also arise when mapping these trails because the local trail clubs make a lot of their money from selling the local maps…politics, politics, politics.

Don’t give up the trails or the BC mafia will be after you! 😆

Yeah, we’re not looking to add any trails that are illegal. The first rule about secret trails is that you don’t talk about secret trails. 😀
