Anyone in the Tennessee area interested in a little camping and riding near the Ocoee River on the Tanasi trail system. I’ve never ridden them but heard they’re pretty epic, plus I’m new to the sport and enjoy meeting fellow mtbers. That being said, I’ve never organized such a thing. I’m thinking mid july, or early august sometime. There’s camping really close to the trails for about 12 bucks a night. Just guaging interest here, sound off on it if you think you might be down.

I might be interested. Rode Chilhowee a couple weeks back, but haven’t hit Tanasi yet.

I’d be interested if the timing is right and temps aren’t in the high 90s.

High 90’s would be rough… especially while camping. hmm… that makes it hard to plan for. Postpone idea til early fall?

I think average high temps for July and and August are in the upper 80s so we should be fine as long as there isn’t a heat wave.

Cool, i’ll grind out some more details over the next week(s) and have a more formal presentation of the idea 😆 this could be epic

Yeah, the temps during that time run like high 80’s tops unless a bad heat wave rushes in from the Gulf or out west. If the timing is good, I just mat be able to shoot up that way for an outing in the woods. Beautiful country up that way and the ride is all good.

I’ver done some minor investigation. Tent camping is 12 bucks and almost right next to the trailhead.

And here’s a description on some of the trails:

And if we want to really go crazy, we could aslo whitewater raft while there. It’s about 41-46 bucks depending on the day, but I’m really only concerned about MTBing.
