Just read your blog post. Cool article. I used to live in CB in the early 90’s and worked snowmaking for a few seasons. I guess it’s historically not too unusual to still be waiting for coverage in early Dec. Keep the faith; it’s coming soon. Until then I guess biking is the best thing to do!
Here in the Front Range, we’re still riding ALL trails in summer conditions…

Yeah I understand its normal, I just think it funny. I’m comparing it to the last 4 winters and this is the latest with such great conditions. I Biked the upper loop last year on January 4th after the snow on the trail was packed down from so much use and so little snow. We will get snow like you said, until then its bike time!!!

Yup, that’s EXACTLY our thinking! 😄

Also the town itself is big enough but not TOO big, and it’s a lot more affordable than, say, Crested Butte or some other towns.

any one have info on Phils World and Durango. I would assume that stuff is good to go?

We just rode Phil’s and Telegraph on Sunday. North facing ridges higher up by Durango are still a no-go, but the rest of Telegraph/Horse Gulch were primo, as was Phil’s 😃
