Jeff got some press in a recent article about Santos on Ocala.com. Check it out:

Jeff Barber, founder of Singletracks.com, a Web-based mountain bike publication, said the site’s members consistently rank Santos in the top 10.

“Santos is really unique, not just for Florida but for most mountain bike trails in the country because they have so many miles of trails in close proximity of one another,” said Barber, who is based in Atlanta.

“What makes Santos great is the variety of the trail types. There’s easy stuff the family can handle, but there are also the big jumps and obstacles that make it a really fun place, even for expert riders,” Barber said.

      Congratulations, Jeff!

      Nicely done Jeff.

It evades me, but I am still trying to figure out how to move my winter base from western Virginia to Ocala – Tampa. 😆

Singletracks has been popping up in the press a lot over the past few days, thanks to our Top 10 Mountain Bike Cities article. Check out these mentions:

Our first TV coverage, as far as we’re aware. Now if only they had said "singletracks.com" in the video as well as the hyperlink 😀 : http://www.fox21news.com/news/story.asp … xeD_uddWZM

My favorite comment from the video "we believe that mountain biking is a driver for the local economy." Good stuff!

      More press!

Never mind that they called me Greg "Hall" instead of "Heil," and that they missed the fact the list is organized by population size… still cool to see 😀

Me too! I’ve ridden all over the southeast, but still haven’t hit Florida. Now that I live almost 2,000 miles away, it’s going to be way more difficult…

Let me know when you decide to make it this way. I suggest the winter time when you’re snowed in up there. lol

Danville trail named No. 1 in Virginia, attracting visitors from all over

With twists and turns, climbs and descents, the Angler’s Ridge mountain bike trail system and its 35 miles of stacked-loop single-track trails is ranked No. 1 in Virginia — and 32nd in the world.

      Read more here: http://www.godanriver.com/entertainment … f6878.html

While I wish they would have mentioned WHO named Angler’s Ridge #1, it’s a safe bet that the above article was a spin off of this article we published back in April: http://www.singletracks.com/blog/mtb-tr … -by-state/

I was interviewed by the Ellicottville Times about our recent Most Scenic Trails in the Eastern USA poll. Check out the news article here: http://www.ellicottvilletimes.com/2014/ … stern-u-s/

Article titled "Eh? Keep clicking, Duluth" in the Duluth News Tribune: http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/conten … ing-duluth

      Duluth loves to vote

After thousands upon thousands of click votes and publicity, Duluth has taken another “outdoors” prize: Best bike trail.

The website singletracks.com put Duluth’s Piedmont Trail in the No. 1 spot for scenic bike trails in the Eastern U.S.

The blurb about the trail reads less like an advertisement for Duluth’s trails and more like amazement at Duluthians’ online voting ability.

The regular Tuesday night ride I’m a part of got written up in the latest issue of Bike Mag (photo: fastermustache.org).

      Image

I’m the "one guy" and the "skinny rider with lights" mentioned in the first paragraph. 😀 Here’s the intro in case it’s hard to read:

A few minutes after I lean my bike against the Flying Biscuit, a legendary Atlanta breakfast joint, [i:1jhxnnzt]one guy[/i:1jhxnnzt] tells me how he witnessed a shooting on this same ride earlier in the month. Before that, it was an armed robbery. "Guy pulled his gun out and shot in the air," [i:1jhxnnzt]a skinny rider with lights[/i:1jhxnnzt] on his helmet and handlebars says.

      [Emphasis mine]

Don’t let the description scare you though, it’s actually a really fun ride. We’re rolling tonight if anyone is interested in joining! 😀

Jeff–forever known as the skinny guy with handlebars 😆
