I ride a Santa Cruz Nomad and I am thinking about upgrading the rear shock. My buddy at my LBS sugested I look into the new Fox CTD. Not sure how much difference that will make. My bike is pretty pimped out already Nomad C with full XTR with Enve AM wheels with DT Swiss 240s. So my LBS says I will be able to climb better by changing out the one that came with the bike. I don’t believe that the more money you spend the better you are. If that was the case I would be # 1. My bike was purchased last January. Any suggestions with be helpful.

The two things that would be really helpful here:
1)WHY are you thinking of upgrading the rear shock? Are you unhappy with any particular aspect of your current one?

FANTASTIC question, and one that should be asked about any upgrade.

Well I got the new shock and yes it does help on climbing. Locks out pretty good
