I am excited to say that the Greensboro Fat Tire Society has begun development of yet another new trail to add to our system. This will be the 2nd new trail developed in 2 years by the Fat Tire Society.
The new trail will be in north Greensboro and will connect and extend Reedy Fork by another 2.5 miles one way. We finalized flagging and corse layout this week and got the city stamp of approval to begin construction. We plan our first trail work day around the 3rd weekend in March with a completion goal of late spring.
If you live in the area and want to help us as a work volunteer, go to http://www.biketriad.com or http://www.greensborovelo.com and look for workday announcements.

Good luck with the trail. I’ll have to come up there this summer to check it out. Do you know of any good trails in the Charlotte area? I’m new here and looking for great places to ride my comfort bike.

Charlotte has a bunch of good singletrack. I recommend Beech Springs (Poplar Tent) and the US National Whitewater.

Charlotte White Water center only charges a $5 parking fee. The city is going to bail them out. Too good to let it die.
We now have about 2 miles completed on Blue Heron!
