I’m sure someone has, but you may find yourself on a Sierra Club hit list. Riding the AT anywhere is highly illegal.

I heard rumor that there’s a 10 or so mile section somewhere that is bike legal, but in general, yes: you could get into series trouble if you get caught!

The AT is for hikers only. MTBing is illegal on it. Just don’t do it, lol.
And no I never heard of anyone trying. There are other MTB rides available in the area anyway.
