Never rode at Leominster State Forest but x/c skied there once. A good short hike is right across rt. 31 to Crow Hill. Good views from the top and if you are prepared and have gear (maybe a permit now) you can rock climb. Spent many days there playing on the granite. Also close by is Wachusett Brewery. Samples anyone? Next time I visit family back in New England I really need to bring my bike.

I did some backcountry ski runs down Ball Hill a couple years ago, but have yet to check out Crow Hill. I hear the climbing permit is easy to get (just check in with the ranger). I’ll have to go check out the climbing sometime.
