Ideal bike for Tasmania

Hey guys, new to singletracks- currently living and riding in Fernie BC but looking to make the move back home to Aus and to Tassie in early 2019. Just wondering what all you guys and gals are riding down that way? I know its all personal preference but will be looking to do some xc/enduro/gravity riding down that way (hopefully base with be Hobart region). What travel, rubber  etc etc do you find works down there- got my eyes currently on a 2018 Giant Reign 2 from my local shop.
