Hi there,
I have managed to put a scratch in the bushing of my fork whilst trying to remove the dust seal with a screwdriver (idiot I know!).
Does anyone know if a scratched bushing is likely to cause any long-term damage to the stanchion or would it be necessary to replace the bushing.
Any hot tips would be much appreciated!
Thanks

The bushing is just there to guide the stanchion and keep it running straight within the lowers – it doesn’t create any kind of seal, so it’s not like scratching a surface with an oil/air seal on it. That said, you want to make sure that it’s not going to damage your stanchion, so maybe just make sure that it’s nice and smooth with some fine sandpaper or something and clean your lowers out thoroughly.
