I want to surprise my husband for his birthday with a weekend MB trip. We are on Long Island and I am looking for a place not too far since he hates to drive and with accommodations. He is a pretty advanced rider but I have no idea where to look. Any ideas would be great.

There is a great trail system in Pennsylvania. It is called Allegrippis trails. It is a six hour ride from Long Island. You can stay at Lake Raystown resort. They have a hotel and decent cabins. Not much else to do unless you like being on the lake and or boating and fishing. It is a beautiful lake, but more of a camping area. Otherwise you could try Jiminy peak resorts which is in New England.

If you are looking fro a fun weekend getaway, I would check out Kingdom Trails in Burke, VT.
Definitely worth the drive, it’s probably the biggest bike destination in the Northeast. With something for everyone, and lots and lots of miles of riding.
You can camp, stay at a B&B, or some of my co-workers recommended this place:
It’s affordable and looks pretty cool. Access to the trails directly.

I’d also say make your way to Kingdom Trails if it’s within your means. Just a wonderful experience up there, and gorgeous land!
