This one will be cross posted in all the usual places
There is a ride and benefit being put on for one of my riding buddies Sunday. He has 3 types of blood cancer that will require him to have a bone marrow transport. If you have a little extra, think about helping these folks out by sponsoring one of the riders. Donations can be made per mile of rider or as a firm amount. Thanks to any that donate

I hope the MTB community can come together to support one of our own. My prayers go out to David, his firends, and family.

Thanks Jarrett. There has been an incredible outpouring of support on the local level. We had 11 riders on our David Kilmer ride today. 😃

Just got some good news on David this week. He is checking out of the Mayo clinic in Arizona where he has been since before Christmas. After his bone marrow transplant, it took a couple of weeks before his new immune system kicked in. Then it attacked his liver and skin. I don’t think he had solid food for at least a month. Several weeks in the valley of death, but things are looking better now. I have not heard whether he is coming home or going to another less intensive treatment center, but either way we are all happy and glad to see him start his recovery. David is the toughest guy I know and I can’t wait to ride with him again.

Hope the recovery is going well. Tell David of the new and perhaps most fun MTB trail network in the state of Arizona, the Gold Canyon trails just south of the scenic Superstitions. That will get him motivated.

Thanks I’ll mention it to him. He is not going to be riding for a while. After losing 40 lbs (from180) he is just learning to eat again and trying to put on some weight. It is always good to dream about riding even when you can’t. 😃
