Heaphy Track, the 78 km, 2-3 day, Grade 4-5 ride, was opened up to MTBers as a 3 season (May 1 – Sept. 30) trial. Sept 30th marks the end of this 3 year test. The Department of Conservation will hold a review at the end of the year to decide whether to keep the track open to MTBers or to end the program and return it to a hiking track.
MTBers are encouraged to test out the track and submit their comments/reviews to the DOC: [email protected].
SO GET OUT THERE AND RIDE HEAPHY TRACK!
